Introduction

My name is Skylar Eddins, and I am a transgender woman in a Men's prison in Colorado. My DOC # is 153514

I am a transgender woman, poet, playwrite, and a survivor of severe childhood trauma. I'm 52 years young, 5'9" and pushing 300 lbs with 28 inch biceps, and I'm 7 chapters into my autobiography. I'm serving a 20 year sentence for a crime I did not commit. I've been fighting for my freedom since 2018 and my case is pending before the Colorado Supreme Court.

I am also a jailhouse lawyer with a case in the Colorado Court of Appeals. I got together with a group of trans women and sued the Colorado Department of Corrections for numerous civil rights violations, discrimination, and assaults - and we won.

However, in retaliation for our suit, the person responsible for my injuries accused me of assault and transferred me to a unit housing the most violent and dangerous men in Colorado, without due process.
